Rachel is our resident whiz with all the skills (seriously, just look at that list of qualifications!). With expertise spanning early childhood education, social work, and play therapy, she’s passionate about supporting kids and families in meaningful ways. From early childhood settings to therapeutic spaces, Rachel knows how to connect, nurture, and guide little (and not-so-little) ones through life’s ups and downs. Whether she’s diving into play therapy or helping families discover their strengths, she brings warmth, wisdom, and a touch of magic to every interaction.

why every step?
After dedicating her career to working with and supporting children and families, including over eight years with DCP, Rachel saw an opportunity to make an even greater impact. When she and her family relocated back to the Barossa, she began exploring new opportunities and discovered Every Step. The services aligned perfectly with her passion for helping children explore their emotions and overcome challenges in a safe, supportive space. It also allowed her to continue empowering families, something she has always been deeply committed to.
a little about Rachel
Rachel grew up in the Riverland before moving to the Barossa with her family during primary school. She and her husband spent 11 years moving around, from Darwin to various places across the Eyre Peninsula, before returning to the Barossa to be closer to family with their three-year-old son. Rachel loves spending weekends at their shack on the river and taking their caravan on adventures to explore new places.

favourite playroom resource
Rachel’s favourite playroom resource is the dollhouse. She loves how it allows children to express their feelings and family dynamics through role play in a safe and supported way. It’s also a wonderful tool for fostering creativity and imagination through play.

favourite childhood toy
As a child, Rachel loved playing with her dolls - caring for them, feeding them, and taking them everywhere as if they were her own children. This early love for nurturing others sparked her lifelong passion for working with children, a path she has followed ever since finishing school.
