meet narelle
Meet Narelle, our registered play therapist and clinic manager. Narelle works closely with Jodie on all things behind the scenes—managing referrals, scheduling, NDIS reports, and much more! In addition to her administrative duties, Narelle also maintains a client load and is well-known for her expertise in working with younger children.

why every step?
Narelle comes from an early childhood background, having worked in preschool for over 20 years. She was drawn to the child-centred approach of play therapy because it allows her to work with children individually, meeting them where they are with no expectations. For Narelle, play is a child’s primary means of communication, expression, and understanding of their experiences.
a little about narelle
Narelle and her husband have three boys, aged 20, 17, and 12, who are all heavily involved in sports throughout the year. As a family, they enjoy camping in their camper trailer, often by the beach, which is Narelle's favorite place to be—preferably in Queensland! She also loves cooking, gardening, and relaxing at home. Interestingly, Narelle lived in a dugout in Coober Pedy for five years, and she has a fear of birds!

favourite playroom resource
Narelle’s favorite toys in the playroom are the miniatures. She enjoys them because they can be used in a variety of ways across different areas of the room and can be incorporated alongside other toys. The miniatures offer endless possibilities for creative play and storytelling, allowing children to build and explore different scenarios and worlds.
favourite childhood toy
Narelle had many favourite toys, but her dolls were probably her preferred ones. She would dress them up and take them on trips, creating elaborate adventures for them. Narelle was fortunate to have a very talented grandma who would sew various outfits for the dolls, adding to the fun and creativity of her playtime.
