why every step?

Michelle is deeply committed to supporting children and families as they navigate life’s challenges, which is why she chose a career in play therapy. Her background as a special education teacher gave her a profound understanding of the diverse ways children learn and express themselves, leading her naturally into play therapy. Michelle believes in the power of play as a language for children, helping them process emotions, build resilience, and develop coping skills in a safe environment. She loves collaborating holistically with families, guiding them through both the difficulties and successes they experience in an ever-changing world. For Michelle, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a child grow in confidence and emotional understanding, knowing she’s played a part in their journey.

a little about michelle

Michelle lives in the Barossa with her husband and children. She loves music, travel, and good conversation—whether it’s through reading, podcasts, or quality time with friends. She’s surprisingly scared of birds, which always makes for a memorable moment when she encounters them!

favourite playroom resource

Michelle’s favourite toy in the playroom is the dollhouse. She loves it because it’s an incredible tool for creativity, learning, and emotional development, allowing children to express themselves, explore family dynamics, and work through different scenarios in a safe and imaginative way.

favourite childhood toy

Michelle’s favourite childhood toy was her Baby Born doll. She loved how it allowed her to care for and nurture, sparking her imagination and helping her create all kinds of stories and scenarios.
